Hello and welcome! My name is Chip Drewry and I live in the Westonka area of Lake Minnetonka. I was raised in Fargo, ND, spent a few years in Ashland, WI, and came to the Twin Cities to be with family, and moved to Westonka. I’ve been here most of my adult life. I’ve been to the old Excelsior Amusement Park when I was a young boy, and when I finally moved to Westonka as a younger adult, to give you an idea how long I’ve been here, two of the old Big Island Amusement Park buildings were still standing, there was a First National Bank of Mound on Commerce, a Coast To Coast Hardware store, the old high school was being used, and there was no Jubilee Foods, that’s where the high school was. You had to go to the Red Owl in Spring Park for groceries, that space is now occupied by Ridgeview Clinic. Back Channel brewery was a Country Kitchen restaurant, West Lakes Dentistry was a Hardee’s, Surfside was the VFW, and the list goes on. I’ve been here awhile.
